The 2011 Dodge Challenger is headed our way. The car’s official pricing has not been revealed yet, but the Internet has come to save us from waiting for the automaker to take the decision: autoblog reports that the NADA (National Automobile Dealers Association) Guide website features a configurator for the car, which also happens to come with the price list (the tool shows the 2010 version of the car).
But the joy stops here, as the Manufacturer Suggested Retail Prices (MSRP) for the 2011 Challenger show a significant increase for all the models in the range. The entry-level Challenger SE will be sold for $26,055, a figure that can be translated into a $2,310 increase over the 2010 MY price. The Coupe R/T, which currently retails for $31,610 will come with a $1,910 increase, while the R/T Classic will climb $ 2,460 to $37,400. The top of the range SRT8 comes with a $1,921 price premium and will retail for $45,601. The prices include the $750 destination charge.
But let’s see what you get for the extra money. The 2011 Challenger will only come with minor exterior updates, such as a redesigned lower front fascia, while its interior will come with a wide list of updates, offering a new design as well as additional equipment like Garmin navigation.
As for the tech side, the SE models will get Pentastar engines that should develop around 300 hp (with direct injection).
The SRT8 model will come with multiple modifications, with its exterior receiving more aggressive styling. But the most important change will take place under the bonnet, where the car will be fitted with a new 6.4 liter Hemi V8 that should deliver 480 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque and come with a cylinder deactivation figure that would allow it to shut 4 cylinders off when power is not needed, to offer superior mpg.
